About Me
My name is Thomas Edwards.
I am a daydreamer.
I see worlds in the clouds. I hear music in the breeze. I escape into my own world full of color, charisma, and creativity. I create an outlet for people to not only escape the world, but to see the world from a new perspective. That's all a photo is - a moment in time captured from one perspective. Films capitalize off of visionaries and collages of emotion and vibrancy creating an overwhelming panorama that is more than just clips of videos - it's a supercut of how we see the world. It's a vessel to explore my own hardships, portray my own growth, and express my own authenticity. Storytelling is the root to artistic performance. Since the start of humanity, stories have been passed down our family trees forever engraved in our roots. It is time to share the narratives buried within us all. Life is too short not to leave the world a little shinier than you found it.
This website is more than a portfolio - it is the beginning of my story as an artist. I document old projects to present my growth and ideas. You can watch my work improve and see me grow into the person I am today.
I am now attending Columbia University in the City of New York. I applied and was accepted through the film application process, and I am planning on continuing a professional education in filmmaking.

It's influence on society makes it a powerful tool to encourage, share, and create. This medium is always evolving, and I'm obsessed with the passionate nature of the filmmaking process.

Photography
The idea of photography fascinates me. I have been given the power to freeze any moment in time. As a very sentimental person, I love how photographs can keep memories alive. I find it inspiring how people want to remember important, life changing moments with the flick of a shutter. A camera also has incredible influential potential - the ability to capture a glimpse of time allows photographers to show outstanding and impactful details that forever inspire their viewers.

Social Media Marketing
I have always been fascinated by how social media incorporates entertainment, video production, and advertising. Being the modern-day commercial, social media marketing is a revolutionary and evolving career that entangles many different aspirations of mine. Through both my private social media and the social media accounts I work with, I have discovered new ways to quickly engage with an audience and adjust content creation with the ever-changing trends of the internet. Through my experiences in social media, I have met many incredibly influential influencers and creators, and I continue to admire the joy of creating simple and fun content for people to enjoy. Artistic Literature, Studies, and Critiques
I believe one of the most important things about creating art is evaluating art and its impact on its audience. Through my experiences in high school with the International Bachelorette program and my experiences in my on-going college career, I think it is important to share my perspective on artistic composition and societal influence as I begin to craft my own influential work. In this portfolio, I have posted a comparison study, a process portfolio, and an analytical paper. Through these pieces, you can see how I prefer to break down visual art, my process in creating projects, and my critical opinion on one of the most pressing issues in the film industry: misrepresentations of identities in western cinema.
